Tired But Feeling Better

I spoke with Theresa this evening. She's still uncomfortable and in pain but it's better than before. The doctors came up with a drug cocktail that works (somewhat). The reality is the pain won't completely subside until she's fully recovered. Right now the pain ranges from a 5 to a 10. The hope is that it stays closer to a 5.

The good news: she's leaving the hospital tomorrow around 11:00 AM! Theresa then has 8 weeks of recovery. Next week she has an appointment with her surgeon and carcinoid specialist. The results from the labs will be back and they'll know the nature of the nodules found while removing the main tumor. Once they have the biopsy reports they can chart the proper course of action.

  3. ok, i have read all the latest blogs since i left sunday. i cannot believe you have been going through so much T. have you pooped yet? i talked w/ a girl who had stomach surgery. she said the gas is absolutely the worst and cause for all the pain. meds did nothing for her either. as soon as she had a bowel movement, it was like a miracle. so, this is probably all a moot point right now if you are on your way home today. THAT IS fabulous.
rest and just take it day to day. you will get strong. nice! 8 weeks.
    i love you, aunt mary
